FLAG RESCUE
WHAT IS FLAG RESCUE
Hi, I am Katelynn Dangel, I am working towards getting my gold award in Girl Scouts and Flag Rescue is my project.
Flag rescue is a project that is aimed towards bringing attention to the lack of education people have on the proper retiring of the United States Flag and proper flag code. This website is for people to be able to learn about flag retirement and flag code in general. This website is also to help lessen the number of United States flags that get disposed of in the trash by informing people of ways available in the community to dispose of United States flags.
WHAT ISÂ FLAG CODE?
Flag code is a set of rules designed for the display and care of the national flag of the United States of America
OPTIONSÂ AVAILABLE IN YOUR COMMUNITY
-Flag disposal boxes
-local fire/police stations
-American legion
WHAT ARE FLAG DISPOSAL BOXES?
Flag disposal boxes are boxes that are throughout the community where people can deposit flags that are ready for retirement. Once the boxes are full various organizations such as American Legion, VFWs, and Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops collect them and hold Flag retirement ceremonies. To find local retirement options near you visit https://www.usflagstore.com/flag_disposal_s/2241.htm/
